Maharani Rice has so many benefits its difficult to know where to start!. Firstly and most importantly it has a lower G.I.. Its actual G.I. is ranked at 52 which is the same as Kiwi fruit compared to some white rice (steamed) ranking as high as 98 on the G.I. Many people have tried eating brown or wholegain rice because it has a lower G.I. than white rice but are not keen on the taste and texture of it. Maharani is able to offer the benefit of it having low G.I. at the same time as it being a white rice.A problem experienced by many when eating foods high in carbohydrates and starch is that it can cause bloating, lethargy and other problems with the digestive system. Maharani Rice has a light, non sticky texture and hence does not weigh heavily on the system once eaten.
The rice is also high in thiamin (Vitamin B1), which is good for the memory. Low in salt & fat.
